Over the years, I have developed an extensive metal arts background. I received my Bachelor of Arts studying primarily metal casting and fabrication on a sculptural scale. After working for several years in the Seattle arts industry as a public art fabricator, I continued my education at the University of Washington and received a Master of Architecture. In 2010, I took my first jewelry class at Pratt Fine Arts in Seattle. It was immediately clear that jewelry fabrication was the perfect marriage of my interests in metal, making and design. I have recently transitioned away from working in architecture and now work full time as a jewelry artist.
Creo Studio Jewelry offers handmade jewelry that celebrates metal and design. CREO means both ‘to make’ and ‘to believe’ and captures the essence of my lifelong love of art and passion to create it. My work is fueled by my background in architecture, large scale metal fabrication and sculpture. Creo is bold, simple and unique. My work focuses on form, shape, positive and negative space, line, contrast and texture. I use modern and minimal shape making and compositions combined with embossed textures, patterns and patinas to create work that has a rich and layered depth.
I recently moved to North Kitsap from Seattle but am originally from Charleston, SC. Outside of making jewelry, you will find me hiking, skiing and swimming my way through the PNW with my husband and 6 year old daughter.
