I am a Washington State based artist, specializing in acrylic painting and mixed media.  The images I create reflect my Mexican American heritage.  I often paint scenes from my travels, fruit from the open air markets, brilliant flowers and birds.  I also create mixed-media paintings with imagery from the Pacific Northwest, using maps, objects and collage.

I have extensive experience overseas, which has both shaped who I am and influenced my art. This travel was done through educational programs, vacation, and living abroad while serving in the United States Navy.  Having the dichotomy of strict military life and the exotic surroundings of foreign countries provided a wealth of rich imagery and emotion to be expressed through my art.  My training in Russian language and culture has also added to my artistic sense.

There are universal themes, especially in pattern, that resonate in my perception of these experiences translated through my work. I teach art classes and painting events called Art Flights at my studio in Kingston, Washington, "Kingston Artist Tree".
